Vocational Rehabilitation Programs
The mission of the ServiceSource Network is to provide individuals with disabilities an exceptional service delivery experience through innovative and valued employment, training, rehabilitation and support services. To fulfill that mission, the Network offers a variety of rehabilitation programs, support services, and employment opportunities.
Individuals with disabilities can receive job skills training through the Network’s partnership with local departments of vocational rehabilitation, and in some cases without the sponsorship of these agencies, through grants.
Examples of these services include:
• Job Training Programs – partnerships with many colleges and computer based business programs
• OCI Business Technology Center
• Laurie Mitchell Training Center
• Federal Grant Programs
• Projects with Industry (Florida, Virginia and Delaware)
• Youth Transition Demonstration
• Work Incentives Planning & Assistance (WIPA)
Each network affiliate offers numerous support services, including day support, housing programs, and training on how to negotiate social services. Each affiliate also offers a variety of direct employment options for people with disabilities, including center-based employment, supported employment, jobs on many government contracts, and placement with third-party employers. Nearly 1200 people were placed with third party employers in FY 08.
Each affiliate offers different services locally, so please check their sites for the information specific to your area.
